Addictive multiplayer game

Fourteen is a turn-based game. You have to make 14 as many times as possible by summing numbers. Slide your finger over digits to sum them.

Example: 6+4+3+1

Instructions

•  First, you choose your player name.
• To start a new game, select random or enter a friend name.
• A game has 3 rounds: in each one, you have 90 seconds to find as many Fourteen as possible!
• 4 different bonus are available to help you to set higher scores.
• After the round, you can see all combinations of Fourteen you found and those of your opponent!
• Unlock achievements with different records in the game
• You can play your turn when you want (maximum 7 days).

Single line

Add android:ellipsize=”end” in the properties of the texview.

If you want your text on one line, add android:singleLine=”true”.

Example:

Multi lines

If your textview will be on 2 lines for example, add android:maxLines=”2″ in your textview properties.

Rules

3 rounds for a game: each one lasts 90 seconds. You have sixteen numbers (between 1 to 6). Connect numbers to sum them and do 14.

Scores

Some numbers have bonus which give more points. See the help in the application (in Parameters) to see the bonus values.

You are free to play your round whenever you want!

To celebrate, let me show you some statistics. Since the first version of Alchemy War:

- More than 114 500 fights against Killy (the first Enemy) have been played! One fight on two is won at the first round.

- More than 2 100 fights at the round 100!

- The new fight at the round 890 (setted in the version 1.7) was reached 2 times! Congratulations to these players!

- Near 200 000 fights was played!

- More than 414 000 changes between 2 objects have been made!

A new weapon in Alchemy War: the Musket

In this version, you have more items to discover. Now there are 111 items to find! Among these objects, you will be able to create new weapons: medieval and from the XVIIIth century weapons. Best alchimists will also create some fun stuff…

If you try to add the Google library android for the in-app billing, you will have this error: interface IInAppBillingService should be declared in a file called com\android\vending\billing\IInAppBillingService.aidl.

We will see how to solve this issue.

The error

In its tutorial (http://developer.android.com/training/in-app-billing/preparing-iab-app.html#GetSample), Google explains :

To add the In-app Billing Version 3 library to your existing In-app Billing project:

Copy the IInAppBillingService.aidlfile to your Android project.

• If you are using Eclipse: Import the IInAppBillingService.aidl file into your /src directory.

Error on IInAppBillingService.aidl

That is not exactly true. If you do that, you will have this error: IInAppBillingService should be declared in a file called com\android\vending\billing\IInAppBillingService.aidl.

The solution

• Right click on src and make a new package: com.android.vending.billing.

• Move the class IInAppBillingService.aidl in this new package (you can do that with the mouse).

Yesterday, I saw that Ice Cream Sandwich (android 4.0.3) is now available on the tablet Asus Transformer TF101. It is the official upgrade over the air.

I have made the upgrade and discovered… this new version of Android.

I didn’t do a lot of new tests on it. But I would explain what I like or not in future articles.

Alchemy War is a new game. You can see its presentation in this article. I have put it on the android market for 3 weeks (Achemy War on the market). Now it is time to deliver a big update.

Some new improvements in the version 1.1.

• More objects to create: now there are 70 elements to find! So I added new combinaisons too.
• More ennemies to beat: you can try to reach the 300th round!
• Object caracteristics: a new button, the “star” button, has been added in the game. When you select an object, you can see the “star” button in the top left of the screen. By clicking on it, you will see the power of this object. A player suggested it to me, and I finally let me convince.

 Next features coming soon

For the future release, I will try to make some improvements.

In the android market, Amber suggested to me to let the player pull out any element he have discovered during a “change”. I think it can be a good improvement. I will try to implement a solution in the game.

An other thing to implement is to save the list of objects discovered by the player. I think it can help players to see its progress.
